WEB + MOBILE PRODUCT

Mappu: itineraries, maps, and audio guides across web and mobile.

Mappu creates AI itineraries, lets people explore a city on a map, and provides audio guides. I handled product, design, frontend, backend, the iOS and Android apps, and release.

Mappu itinerary planner with trip details and conversation

Live on web, iOS, and Android.

Mappu is live with accounts, payments, content, and analytics across the web and both app stores. I continue to handle releases, maintenance, and technical decisions after deployment.

A static itinerary is not enough once the trip begins.

Trip planning often ended as a list, then the trip still required maps, notes, reviews, and new searches. Mappu carries the same context from itinerary to map to a guide people can read or listen to.

01

Geographic data without constant external searches

Decision
Precompute a global tiled geographic layer instead of relying on live queries.
Outcome
21.8 million points transformed into 2,292,970 tiles, with none missing in the final audit.
02

One coherent product across web, iOS, and Android

Decision
Share frontend and product logic where practical, backed by serverless AWS services and infrastructure as code.
Outcome
The same product is live on the web and both app stores, with public itineraries and audio guides.
03

Useful location with minimal retention

Decision
Avoid persistent precise-location caches, use short server-side retention, and make web-to-app transfers single-use.
Outcome
Guidance continues across web and mobile while the location data required for handoff stays temporary.

Itineraries, maps, and audio guides in one product.

The experience runs from planning on the web to exploring on mobile.

Product work continues after the first deployment.

Web, apps, AI, and payments continue to affect timing, cost, and maintenance after release.

I can take on a feature, integration, or release.

I take the work through release without losing sight of the rest of the product.
